A Powdery Pallet

Pastels and hues, normally reserved exclusively for warm weather, are turning into a season favorite as powdery blues, whites, and a slew of other spring favorites make their debut for Fall/Winter 2013. From white frame bags like those seen at 3.1 Philip Lim and Mulberry to retro white sunglasses and white belts from Kenzo and Proenza Schouler, white is making a mark on fall accessories in a way that style experts would have gasped at ten years ago.

Prim pastels also make an unexpected statement in fall fashion, such as light lavender bags from Proenza Schouler and Christian Dior, and soft yellow and pink gloves in lambskin from Organic by John Patrick and Pedro Lourenco. Honeycomb-colored accessories keep the look more neutral and make great transition pieces into spring. We are seeing bags in honey and cognac colors in numerous collections, from Prada, Burberry, Emilio Pucci and Bottega Veneta to others like Marni, Max Mara, and Rochas.

Bold crystal encrusted pieces perfectly accompany this super soft fall pallet. Designers like Giambattista Valli, Rochas, and Band of Outsiders are showing bold necklaces decorated with crystals so big it would make the Crown jealous. Others like Balmain, Dsquared2, and Bluegirl show off their clear duds in the accessory of the season: over sized, crystal encrusted chandelier earrings.
