Pretty in Pink
We’re back to the basics on the fashion front for Spring/Summer 2014, as pink is the color of the season. Versions of the rosy hue are gracing numerous runways for the Spring/Summer season. Bubble gum-colored clutches and gowns from Elie Saab and cocktail dresses in the same shade at Giles and Rag & Bone feel perfectly appropriate for the warmer weather. Softer, baby pink hues were seen in the form of 1940’s style midi-dresses at Prabal Gurung, in soft chiffon dresses at Sportmax, and in jackets and skirts at Antonio Marras and Christian Dior. Even pinks with hints of lavender popped up in Carven’s shift dresses and Lanvin’s cocktail numbers.
Rose gold adds a modern, monochromatic feel to these looks. Bold and bright jewels are a trend for the season as well, and make a fabulous complement to the looks this season. Stones that accompany this trend beautifully include rose quartz, pink sapphire, and pink tourmaline. Pink diamonds are always fabulous addition, if you can get your hands on them! Pink pearls and clear or pink Lucite also make this trend slightly more modern, especially anything in the oversized variety.
