The Rise of Influencer Marketing in 2018
Inbound Marketing has been taking the marketing world by storm over the past few years as the use of social media, email marketing, and content creation continues to rise. The basic concept of inbound marketing asks the question, “How can I get prospective customers to come to ME first without having to hunt them down?”. Answer: it’s all about the laws of attraction as illustrated below by Garrison Everest.
Now, let’s focus on a big slice of this new funnel: Promoters. They’re the ones that get the word out for you. So who is a key player in the formula these days? Influencers. Beauty bloggers, home decor mavens, and fashionistas with large followings on Instagram–such as Australian lifestyle blogger @designbyaikonik who has nearly 91k followers (below)–are helping to grow the popularity of influencer marketing.
According to Emarketer, the number of influencer posts on Instagram nearly doubled from 2016 to 2017. That is, IF marketers can secure their products a spot in this surprisingly competitive market.
